Hi my fellow traveler,
Sending out these pauses, has become quite ordinary in a very, very extra-ordinary way.
So, take a breath with me. A deep inhale. And if you can hold it a little bit, hold it.
And then exhale.
Settle into this extraordinarily ordinary pause.
You see, something happens when we breathe deeply. Yet we do it all the time… breathing is quite extraordinarily ordinary.
And yet, when we enter the pause, with the intention to slow down, to listen, to be in stillness, to take a moment, move into that threshold place, where we can see more clearly, think more deeply, and be.
Something is happening deep inside of us.
It’s quite extraordinarily ordinary. It’s available to everyone.
Take another breath and lean into wherever you are. If you can’t do it right now, then remember to do it later. You won’t be disappointed.
Take a breath.
In my purple chair time today, I looked at the ordinary things of life. My grandson smile, my husband’s hug, the brightness of the sun on the snow, a smile from a stranger, making dinner… I started to sense the presence of our Creator, of the presence of the Presence.
When the ordinary became extraordinary, I knew… that surely… the presence of the Lord was in this place.
So take a deep breath again.
And perhaps… join me in pondering the ordinary things of the present moment. And listen. Sense. The presence. Of the Lord.
Take another deep breath, and if you have time, then sit in the ordinary. You may just find it extraordinary too.
You won’t be disappointed.
And somehow… Breathing deeply. Taking a minute or two to rest will affect you. Positively.
I send you off, wishing you great awareness of the Extraordinary ordinary of your day.
With much love from this purple chair, to yours sweet friend.
I bid you great peace, great hope and great love.
Kathy
I love this song and I thought you might enjoy the lyrics as well.
Surely the presence of the Lord is in this place,
I can feel His mighty power and His grace.
I can hear the brush of angel’s wings,
I see glory on each face;
Surely the presence of the Lord is in this place.
(Lanny Wolfe, 1977)
