Hello and hello and hello… My fellow traveler, how I treasure you as I write this. We are fellows, sojourners, together in this thing we call life on earth.

Take a deep breath, my friend, keep being intentional with your breathing, sense your emotions settling, your body less tense, and your heart finding its rhythm again.

This is a favorite verse of mine. Read it several times, try to read it aloud actually and observe what happens as you ponder it.

“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you.”Isaiah 26:3

Perfect peace. Serenity.

We want peace, but instead we rehearse our worries. We try to earn rest or peace by finishing everything first. And that serenity becomes elusive or at least it feels that way.

But when we fix our thoughts on you. When our thoughts are fixed on you. On you, oh God of peace.

We fix our thoughts on you.

And serenity becomes an anchor.

You see peace is not passive. It’s powerful and it guards our hearts, it steadies our minds and it transcends all understanding not because it ignores the pain but because it holds us within it.

Breathe deeply again, my sweet friend as you read this.

We sit in serenity not by numbing out, but by tuning in by fixing our thoughts on the one who keeps us in perfect peace.

This is a holy practice, my friend. An awareness to the chaos. A release and a return to the presence. Holy rhythm.

What are your thoughts fixed on?

What are my thoughts fixed on?

There’s a beautiful choice in that thought.

With with much love and joy and peace and serenity From This Purple Chair To Yours!Kathy

Listen for your serenity. If you get time, listen to the audio that extends this text below.
