Take a deep deep breath, my fellow traveler…

And repeat as needed.

Did you know that this type of breathing brings on a sense of calm?

Deep breathing signals to our body that it is safe to relax. To just be…

We are so amazingly built!

Take another breath with me.

I believe our lungs were actually made to intentionally pause and breathe. I always knew my lungs were made for breathing… But now to recognize they are also made to bring about the calm amidst the storm.

When we breathe, intentionally, we move into a place of ponder; a place of peace.

It’s almost like sending a gentle message to our body: “All is well.”

Take a small Pause and try this breathing rhythm:

  1. Inhale slowly through your nose for 4 counts
  2. Pause gently for 1–2 counts
  3. Exhale slowly through your mouth for 6 counts
  4. Repeat for 1–3 minutes

I like to say that this kind of rhythm, helps me rediscover the peace that passes all understanding. That river of peace deep within me and you despite what’s going on externally.

So take another breath or two, my dear fellow traveler, and if you get a chance, listen to the audio. Our lungs were made for this.

From This Purple Chair To Yours,

I wish you relief and relaxation and restoration as you pause and breathe and ponder…

Kathy
